Starting at 100,000 softgels per SKU. Specifications, packaging minimums and production schedules are confirmed per project.
Softgels per SKU, subject to project requirements.
Bovine, marine, porcine and plant-based systems.
Typical production timing for first orders and reorders.
ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and applicable Halal documentation.
Softgel Shell Materials & Encapsulation Technologies
Softgel development requires the shell and fill to work together. We review elasticity, ingredient compatibility, moisture behavior and the required release profile before selecting the manufacturing approach.
Traceable Gelatin Shells
Bovine, marine fish and porcine gelatin options support different formula and market requirements. Source, appearance and shell performance are confirmed against the agreed material specification.
Plant-Based Softgels
Carrageenan and modified-starch shell systems are available for animal-free product development. Shell ingredients, fill compatibility and storage performance are reviewed for each formulation.
Enteric & Delayed Release
Acid-resistant shell systems or post-encapsulation coating can be evaluated for a defined release target. Performance is confirmed through the agreed testing method and product specification.
Chewable & Twist-Off Formats
Discuss chewable softgels, twist-off unit doses and customized shell colors. Flavor, intended use, light-protection needs and packaging are evaluated as part of the complete product.
An animal-free shell does not automatically make the finished product vegan. Fill ingredients and processing materials must also match the intended claim. Halal and Kosher documentation is confirmed for applicable materials and products.
Softgel Shapes, Die Sizes & Fill Capacities
Softgel die volumes are commonly described in minims. Actual fill weight depends on fill density, composition, process behavior and the selected die.
| Forma | Die Size Range | Indicative Fill Weight | Typical Project Directions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ovale | 3–16 minim | 150–1,000 mg | Vitamin E, CoQ10, evening primrose oil and suitable botanical formulations. |
| Oblungo | 8–24 minim | 500–1,500 mg | Omega-3 fish oil, krill oil and multi-ingredient oil-based blends. |
| Rotondo | 1–9 minim | 60–550 mg | Vitamin D, vitamin A and selected small-format or burst-bead concepts. |
| Specialty / Twist-Off | Project-specific dies | 200–800 mg | Unit-dose liquid products and selected specialty formats, subject to intended-use review. |
These are indicative production ranges, not guaranteed conversions between each listed die size and fill weight. Final size, tooling and fill weight are confirmed through formulation review and production trials. Fill weight refers to the contents and excludes the shell.
Softgel shape reference. Final dimensions and tooling are confirmed against the selected die specification.
Representative Softgel Formulations
We support projects from single-oil fills to more complex oil-based suspensions. Development focuses on dose distribution, shell compatibility, seal integrity and the stability requirements of the finished product.

Fish oil, krill oil and algal DHA projects, including discussion of EE or rTG fish oil specifications. Oblong formats and target fill weights are selected around your oil concentration and serving design.
Enteric options and flavor systems can be reviewed. Sensory performance, oxidation requirements and packaging are confirmed for the actual formula.
Explore Omega-3 Softgel Manufacturing ↗Vitamine liposolubili
Vitamin D3, vitamin K2 MK-7, vitamin E and other suitable fat-soluble vitamin concepts. Carrier options include olive oil, MCT oil and flaxseed oil, subject to formulation compatibility.
Low-dose projects require particular attention to ingredient preparation, blend uniformity, serving design and the agreed assay method.
CoQ10 & Light-Sensitive Actives
Ubiquinone or ubiquinol formulations can be reviewed as part of a suitable lipid carrier system. Shell opacity and protective packaging are selected according to the ingredient and stability requirements.
Stabilizer choices, oxidation control and crystallization risk are evaluated per formulation. Beeswax-containing options are not suitable for vegan positioning.
Botanical & Seed Oils
Saw palmetto, pumpkin seed oil, evening primrose oil, oregano oil and black seed oil projects can be discussed with gelatin or suitable plant-based shells.
Source, extraction method, oil specification, sensory profile and compatibility with the selected shell are reviewed before production.
Lutein & Complex Oil Suspensions
Lutein, zeaxanthin and selected multi-active formulations can be assessed for dispersion in an oil carrier. Suitable powdered ingredients may require particle-size, viscosity and suspension-stability review.
Homogenization, sedimentation behavior and dose distribution are evaluated during development. Feasibility is confirmed for the actual ingredient blend.
Custom Softgel Manufacturing & Private Label Projects
Bring an established oil formula, develop a new product or ask about an existing formula direction. The project route determines development, sampling and documentation needs.

Ask a Softgel Project Question ↗Where are your softgels manufactured?
Softgels are manufactured in China. Gensei Global manages the project, with formal business documentation under Gensei Global Industries Co., Ltd.
What is the MOQ for softgel manufacturing?
Production starts at 100,000 softgels per SKU. Final minimums depend on the fill, shell, die selection and packaging requirements.
How long does softgel sampling take?
Lab sampling typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on fill and shell complexity, ingredient availability and tooling requirements. The sample schedule is confirmed after formula feasibility review.
How long do first orders and reorders take?
Both typically have a production lead time of 6–8 weeks once materials are ready and project requirements are approved. Sampling, development and international transit are scheduled separately.
Do you support vegetarian or vegan softgels?
Plant-based shell systems are available. The complete product must be reviewed for animal-derived ingredients and processing materials before a vegan claim is made.
Can I provide my own softgel formula?
Yes. Share the active ingredients, target amounts, carrier composition and available specifications. We review fill behavior, shell compatibility and manufacturing feasibility before confirming the project.
