Tablet Sizes, Shapes & Surface Finishes
Define ingredient loading, total tablet weight, tooling and tablets per serving together. Final dimensions depend on the selected formula.
| Tham số | Tùy chọn | Project Confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Total Tablet Weight | Standard range: 200–1,500 mg per tablet. | Includes actives and excipients. Final weight depends on formula and tooling. |
| Round Tablets | Standard diameter range: 6–15 mm. | Thickness, target weight and mechanical properties are defined for the formula. |
| Oval & Caplet Shapes | Tooling options include 16 × 7 mm, 19 × 8.5 mm and 21 × 10 mm. | Confirm tooling availability and suitability for dose, coating and intended use. |
| Surface Finish | Uncoated tablets and clear or colored film coating. | Select the finish for the formulation, appearance and product requirements. |
| Scoring & Branding | Score lines, embossed or debossed characters and brand logos. | Review detail resolution, tablet geometry, coating effects and tooling requirements. |
| Tooling | Standard tooling options and custom shapes or logo punches. | Confirm availability. Custom tooling fees and lead times are quoted separately. |
Active Dose Is Not Total Tablet Weight
Ingredient forms and excipients affect the final tablet weight. For mineral products, specify both the elemental nutrient target and the source material. Higher-dose products may require a larger tablet or multiple tablets per serving.
Define Scoring Requirements Separately
A score line alone does not establish equal-dose splitting. Any split-tablet use requires separate consideration of dose distribution, tablet performance and intended use.
Specialized Tablet Development
Enteric, sustained-release and bi-layer projects require a separate feasibility review, minimum batch assessment and performance verification plan. A bi-layer structure alone does not establish a particular release profile.
Formula Feasibility, Trial Compression & Production
A workable tablet needs the right balance of dose, powder behavior, mechanical strength and finished product performance.
What We Review Before Scale-Up
- Ingredient Loading & Serving Design Assess active loading, ingredient forms, total tablet weight and tablets per serving.
- Powder & Blend Behavior Review flow, ingredient distribution, moisture sensitivity and compressibility.
- Excipient Selection Consider binders, fillers, disintegrants and lubricants against the product brief.
- Trial Compression Performance Evaluate weight, hardness, friability and issues such as capping, lamination or sticking.
- Coating & Packaging Fit Align the selected finish and packaging with product characteristics and specifications.
-
Review Materials & Specifications
Confirm ingredient forms, target dose, tablet format and material acceptance requirements.
-
Sample & Select the Process
Assess direct compression, wet granulation or dry granulation for the formula. Not every project passes through every process.
-
Blend, Compress & Finish
Follow the selected route with agreed in-process checks and coating where required.
-
Verify, Release & Pack
Complete applicable checks, quality review, batch documentation and packaging before shipment preparation.
Define the Quality Plan Before Production
Connect material acceptance, process controls and finished product specifications with an agreed verification and documentation plan.
Incoming Acceptance
Review identity requirements, raw material specifications, available COAs and relevant contaminant controls.
In-Process Controls
Define applicable checks for tablet weight, hardness, friability, moisture and other process-dependent characteristics.
Specifications & Release
Agree the verification approach for ingredient content, microbiology, contaminants and other applicable finished product specifications.
Additional Studies
Scope stability work, method development, specialized release testing and additional third-party analysis where required.
Methods, acceptance criteria, testing responsibility, frequency, fees and deliverable documents are confirmed in the project quality plan.
Review the Documents Relevant to Your Project
Confirm the manufacturing information, certification scope and product documentation required for your intended market.
Project & Quality Documents
- Manufacturer and production site information.
- Product specification and agreed testing scope.
- A redacted tablet COA example.
- Applicable certification documents.
- Additional study requirements and timelines.
Certification Documents
Review the certificate holder, manufacturing site, scope and current validity. Certification applies within the stated scope; Halal suitability depends on the complete formula and applicable certification.
Tablet MOQ, Sampling & Production Lead Times
Plan the manufacturing batch, development work and finished packaging together.
Starting MOQ: 100,000 Tablets / SKU
The starting quantity applies to existing and custom formulas. Specialized systems, coating requirements and equipment loading may require a higher minimum batch.
Theoretical packaging equivalents:
- 60 tablets per bottle: 1,666 complete bottles, with 40 tablets remaining.
- 120 tablets per bottle: 833 complete bottles, with 40 tablets remaining.
These calculations exclude quality samples and production allowances. Final packed quantities and packaging component minimums are confirmed during quotation.
Sampling & Production Reference
The production clock starts after raw materials and packaging are available and the final formula, specification, pre-production sample and artwork have written approval. Development, stability studies and international shipping are additional.
Quote scope should distinguish production, custom tooling, sampling, additional testing and packaging costs where applicable.
Packaging That Fits Your Tablet Product
Match the packaging to tablet characteristics, moisture sensitivity, pack count and sales channel.
Bottles, Blisters & Bulk Delivery
Review bottle materials, closures, seals, blister requirements, labels and cartons as part of the finished product specification.
- PET, HDPE or glass bottle options.
- PVC/PVDC or Alu-Alu blister requirements.
- Bulk coated or uncoated tablet delivery.
- Retail labels and secondary cartons.
Material choice, protection requirements and supplier minimums are confirmed for the project.
Câu hỏi thường gặp về sản xuất thực phẩm chức năng dạng viên nén
Clarify the formula, commercial conditions and documentation before starting your project.
Who manufactures the tablets?
Gensei Global manufactures the tablets in China. Gensei Global Industries Co., Ltd. is the company for your project. Contact us to review manufacturing information and the proposed service scope.
What do you need to assess my project?
Share your target market, ingredient forms, amounts per serving, tablets per serving, preferred tablet size, quantity and packaging. Include required testing, documentation and your intended launch schedule.
Can you work with our formula or supplied ingredients?
Yes, subject to documentation, incoming acceptance and manufacturing suitability review. Provide specifications, available COAs and material quantities. Standalone compression or coating is assessed separately.
How do you assess whether the target dose will fit?
We consider ingredient forms, required raw material quantities, excipients, total tablet weight and available tooling. Mineral products should distinguish elemental nutrient amounts from source material amounts. The serving design may require more than one tablet.
Can you develop enteric, sustained-release or bi-layer tablets?
These systems require a separate feasibility review, sample development and performance verification plan. Release targets, minimum batch requirements, timing and testing are established for the proposed project. A coating name or bi-layer structure alone does not establish product performance.
What affects MOQ, quotation and lead time?
Formula complexity, raw materials, tooling, coating, testing, production loading and packaging affect the quotation and schedule. The starting MOQ is 100,000 tablets per SKU, with higher minimums possible for specialized projects or packaging components.
How are testing and shelf life established?
The project quality plan defines applicable specifications, verification methods, responsibilities and documentation. Any stated shelf life needs a supporting basis for the formula, packaging and storage conditions. Confirm stability work and specialized release testing during development.
Can we add a logo, custom shape or score line?
These options are reviewed against tooling, tablet geometry, coating and product requirements. Custom tooling fees and timing are quoted separately. A score line alone does not establish equal-dose splitting.
What should we confirm before sharing a proprietary formula?
Agree confidentiality terms and clarify ownership of the supplied formula, development work, tooling and final technical documents before proceeding. Record the agreed terms in the project agreement.
